Description of a monastic order of men, founded in the 12th century in Lombardy (Italy). The order was abolished, struck by a papal bull in 1571. An associated order of women continued to exist well into the 20th century.
The Nuremberg Chronicle dates back into the incunabula times of book printing. Orignal hand colored copies are very rare!. On the front page we have also the portrait of King Balduin, 7th King of Jerusalem. The Kingdom of Jerusalem was the Kingdom of Crusaders. It initiated in the year 1099 and existed until the year 1291. Balduin was King of Jerusalem from 1174 to 1183.

Condition: Very beautiful and rich original hand coloring. Upper corner has water stain. In the stain two tiny holes in Paper. No damage done to any of the images.
