Die in Frankreich verfolgten Hugenotten und Waldenser verliessen Frankreich und siedelten sich in anderen Ländern Europas und in Übersee an. Als im Jahr 1685 die Verfolgung in Frankreich kulminierte, flohen ca. 40000 bis 50000 Hugenotten und Waldenser. Diese gründeten reformierte Kirchengemeinden.

Dieser kleine Kupferstich stammt wahrscheinlich aus einem Almanach. Er ist auf blauen Karton aufgezogen und mit schwarzer Tusche umrandet. Unwesentliche Altersspuren.
