Cape Mesurado (also Montserrado), near Monrovia, capital of Liberia in Africa.
This was the place, where African American settlers, freed slaves, landed and founded their colony in 1822.

The fish on this print named from top: "A strange fish", "Another strange fish", "The Devil Ray" look like sea monsters. Obviously they are species observed in the neighborhood of Cape Mesurado in Liberia.

Clean. Nice hand color. Wide margins a bit wrinkly.

22,5 x 14,3 cm (ca. 12.7 x 5.6")
Cape Montserrado, coast of Liberia near the capital Monrovia and the mouth of the Saint Paul River. The devil fish or giant devil ray (Mobula mobular) is a species of ray in the family Mobulidae.
