Von Thomas Salmon (1679-1767)

Venice, 1745 / 48

View of Cologne (Koeln) across the Rhine from Deutz.
The unfinished cathedral shown in the panorama with a building crane

Interesting: Thomas Salmon used as a model the copper etching published in "Hecatompolis sive Totius Terrarum Oppida Nobiliora Centrum..." by Peter Schenk (1660-1711) in Amsterdam, 1702. Salmon's view is slightly smaller than Schenk's.

Minimal traces of age and use. Two vertical folds to fit small book size.
