"Stadt Theater in Leipzig"  Front of the Leipzig Theathre, destroyed in 1943 in WW II  The theatre was built during the years of 1864-68 by Carl Friedrich Langhans (his father built the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin). It was located in the North of 'Augustenplatz'. Nowadays the Opera is there. Frontalansicht. Das Neue Theater wurde von Carl Ferdinand Langhans in den Jahren 1864-68 an der
Nordseite des Augustusplatz gebaut. Es stand dort bis zu seiner vollständigen Zerstörung im Zweiten Weltkrieg.
Jetzt steht an seinem Platz die 1956-60 gebaute Oper.
