Aquatinta after the painting by Henry Morland (1716-1797) - father of George Morland and the mezzotint by Philip Dawe, which he produced in 1773

Printed in colour.

London, ca. 1820

This splendid caricature of an old critical art collector inspecting scrutinizingly a painting held for him by a bored, yawning young man, probably the art dealer.

This aquatint was mounted on a page of a scrap book. On the reverse side of the underlaying page are two steel engravings and paper clippings.

While the margins ofthe aquatint are lightly age toned, showing other minor traces of age and use, the image itself is in very good condition.

Image: 26,5 x 18,3 cm (10.4 x 7.2")
