The Blackfoot River Valley extends from the Blackfoot River's beginnings at Roger's Pass, atop the Continental Divide, to the river's confluence with the Clark Fork River, just east of Missoula. This gorgeous valley was originally carved by glaciers and later explored by Lewis and Clark.

These original hand-colored lithographs were made in the 1850s by a group of naturalists and artists who travelled with the expedition surveying the West for the U.S. Pacific Railroad. These prints were published as part of the official government report.
