Victor Hugo, the poet shown here in high age with over-dimensional head. A feather keel in his right hand, the tip pointing towards his own shadow. His eyes diverted into an obscure distance. Hugo is surrounded by books with Hugo-titles. A pensive, good looking poet.

Lithograph has traces of age and use in lower margin. Some repaired tears on lower margin edge..
In the lower eft of image is an area where the coloring is missing.
