Plate 4 of a series: The Four Ages of Man
An old man, slumped on a chair, obviously in pain, his eyes focusing the void in the distance, his hands folded in prayer. A dog curled up by his feet, a cat stealing meat in the pantry. On the back wall of the room a painting depicting the Last Judgement. The housekeeper, in expectation of the old man's death, buries precious items in a hole in the garden. The village in the distance is abundant with old and disabled people.
Very good condition. Print has remnants of repeated mounting. A hole in upper margin, not touching image. Light general age toning.
Platemark measurements: 22,2 x 25,5 cm (ca. 8.7 x 10")
