Franconia is the northernmost province in Bavaria. It is home of the SCHEDEL Chronicle, because this important incunabula book was printed in Nuremberg, the largest city in Franconia. From ancient times Nuremberg was an artist city (just think of Albrecht Duerer) and it was an intellectual, powerful and successful business center.

Condition: Very good. Excellent hand coloring! Light general age toning gives the woodcut the desired patina. Margins with some small tears far away from image and some minor traces of age and use. Some spots in margins. There are six little round worm holes in image (4), text (1) and upper margin (1). They are so small, that they do not disturb the eye.
