Die beiden seltenen Ansichten von Städten, von denen nur wenige
Kupferstiche gemacht wurden, erschienen zunächst in "Civitates Orbis Terrarum"

von Georg Braun (1541-1622) and Frans Hogenberg (1535-1590)

in Köln, 1572-80

Janssonius erwarb später die Kupferplatten und veröffentlichte das "Städtebuch", dem dieses Blatt entstammt.

Hervorragendes Altkolorit. Der Mittelfalz teils hinterlegt. Breite Margen zeigen
Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Eine Quetschfalte im unteren Teil parallel zu Mittelfalz.
Die Platte leicht verkantet auf Papier aufgesetzt. Verso: textdruck in lateinischer Sprache.

Dortmund: 17,2 x 44 cm (ca. 6.8 x 17.3")

Sheet size: 41,5 x 53,8 cm (ca. 16.3 x 21.2")

The unevenness in the yellow border line on the upper left side is a scanning mistake.

"Copper etchings. Original hand coloring. The vertical centerfold has been partially reinforced. The wide margins show some signs of age and use. In the lower area is a crease parallel to centerfold.
