Roberts was one of the most noted and admired architectural and landscape painters and lithographers of his time. After travelling in many parts of Europe he made several journeys to the Near East and Egypt. He was most noted for the excellence of rendering the ancient ruins which he encountered on his travels. The following prints are from his work about Egypt, Nubia, The Near East and The Holy Land published in London 1842-49.

Very fine hand coloring. All prints are in good condition unless otherwise noted. In the corners of images is the usual pinpoint marking. Some prints have very minimal spotting in margins. There is a hand-lithographed title and signature by David Roberts in every plate. Below the image is the date published. Some prints have the title printed below the image. On the backside of all prints is book text, laid out for a foliosize book.
