Naples / Napoli, 1757-1792

Elegant depiction of a Roman Maenad as she was painted on the wall of a noble citizen of Herculaneum. Her dress transparent. The surrounding velvety black letting this charming nymph stand out as an eye catcher.

The velvety black leaves no white margins.  This print is mounted in a matting with an elegant grey tone. The window cutout is lined with a narrow real gold frame, which looks excellent against the black.
