Title cartouche has dedication: "Dedicata a Sua Eccellenza Il Sig. Gerolamo Durazzo Patrizio Genovese Dal suo Umo e Obbo Servio Ivone Gravier Libraro in Genova"

The Durazzo family belongs to the foremost noble patricians of Genova.

This copper etching was the first of 24 etchings of Genova. They were designed by Chiessa Tessara and published by the book seller Ivone Gravier in Genova, dated 1789.

Plan is very clean. It had to have several vertical and horizontal folds in order to fit book size. Wide margins with some traces of use. A tear in left margin reaches slightly into plate mark, however distant to image. Minor signs of age and use.

Measurement including legend at bottom: 41 x 56,2 cm (ca. 16.1 x 22.1")
