Very decorative and rare world map, especially as first edition publication. The two globes of our earth surrounded by allegories: Air, Fire, Earth, Water. Between the globes top center: The Sun surrounded by the Zodiac and framed with fruit garlands. The Polus Arcticus and the Polus Antarcticus in upper corners and the North and the South Poles in the lower corners of map.
Lower center: Two "World Systems", by Ptolemy and Copernicus.
Very good condition. Light natural age toning.
